Ahmaud Arbery

Ahmaud Marquez Arbery was a 25-year-old black man. A loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. His life mattered. He was humble and kind and always departed from his loved ones with an “I Love You”. His smile would light up a room. He loved to tell jokes, to elicit laughter and had a beautiful personality. He loved sports, graduated from highschool and attended college.

On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud was jogging near Brunswick in Glynn County, Georgia, when he was fataly shot. Arbery had been pursued and confronted by two white males, who were armed and driving a pickup truck. The event was recorded on video by a third white male, who was following Arbery in a second vehicle.

Ahmaud is survived by both parents, one brother, one sister, two loving nephews, one godsister, his grandmother, ten aunts, six uncles, and a host of cousins and friends.
